The Ashland Independent Film Festival (AIFF) is a cornerstone of Ashland, Oregon’s artistic and creative community. After going through a period of virtual and hybrid events, AIFF returned fully in person this year for the first time since 2019.
Over the course of the last year, AIFF successfully fundraised for the continuation of the festival. With not enough of a runway to get the festival going in its typical time slot of April. AIFF board members considered skipping the 2024 festival but ultimately decided to push the festival to later in the year.
Taking place from October 3rd to the 6th, the event hosted over 62 films over the course of 4 days at several venues across Ashland. The festival included a wide variety offerings including short films, documentaries, narratives, animated films, and live events.
Despite operating at half its normal capacity, the festival succeeded in creating a positive outlook for the Ashland Independent Film Festival’s future events.
